History & Facts

The Phoenix Academy is a MISD campus that provides a self-paced accelerated curriculum for students who may be deficient in their credits or meet one or more of the state at-risk criteria factors. It is designed to provide students with an individualized plan to graduate and move forward toward post-secondary education, military, or a trade/industrial career track.

The Academy works with grade levels one through 12. Although The Academy very much operates as one unified campus, there are actually two distinct programs housed in our building. The Phoenix Academy is an option for students to earn a high school diploma in a self-paced and non-traditional setting. The Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) was established to serve the academic and behavioral needs of students who have violated the Student Code of Conduct.
